Why?
- Irrigation is focused on the lawn rather than the planted areas
- Irrigation is set to timers, which only come on at night for short periods of time
- For the planted areas ‘rain gardens’ are used, where the paving is sloped toward the planted areas to utilise rainfall instead of irrigation
- Natives are used to enable survival off season rainfall instead of irrigation
